KARNATAKA KAYASTHAS COME TOGETHER
KARNATAKA KAYASTHA SAMAJ (KKS) traces its roots way back to 1980 when the KARNATAKA KAYASTHA SABHA (KKS) was founded, with the initiative taken by a small group of Kayastha community members for the purpose of bringing together the then miniscule community of Kayasthas living in Bangalore. Commendable efforts were put in by the first few presidents and secretaries like Mr. J.B.Mathur, Mr. V.S. Bhatnagar, Mr. R.P.Srivastava, Mr.S.N.Bhatnagar and Mr. V.K. Bhatnagar in addition to the yeomen services put in by the founding members in the list below:

Small gatherings were held, at least quarterly, and the community was able to interact and preserve their culture. Holi and Diwali Milan were held and most importantly Chitragupta Pooja was performed with great enthusiasm by the then small number of 50 to 60-member Kayastha families in Bangalore.

During 1986 it was registered as KARNATAKA KAYASTHA SABHA (KKS) and a new energy was infused by successive Presidents namely Mr. K.M.Mathur, Mr.Ajeet Khare, Mr. Prabhat Argal, Dr. P.S. Bhatnagar, Mrs Indu Argal, Mrs.Kiran Rawar, Mr. Shirish Mathur, Mr. A.M. Mathur, Mr. G.P. Mathur, Mr.Rahul Kumar, Mr.Shambhu Verma, Mr. Rajkumar Srivastava and Mr.Animesh Bisaria. This was ably supported by the ebullient team of secretaries and many other committed executive committee members.

Bhatnagar, Mrs Indu Argal, Mrs.Kiran Rawar, Mr. Shirish Mathur, Mr. A.M. Mathur, Mr. G.P. Mathur, Mr.Rahul Kumar, Mr.Shambhu Verma, Mr. Rajkumar Srivastava and Mr.Animesh Bisaria. This was ably supported by the ebullient team of secretaries and many other committed executive committee members.
The respective teams organized well attended Holi & Diwali functions; Teej and informal get-together & most eagerly awaited PICNIC with lots of cultural programmes, skits, function shows, fancy dress & competition for children in creative writing, painting, public speaking, culminating in selection of the best all-rounder. To encourage the youngsters & to recognize their academic achievements, the KKS instituted “Dr. Rajeshwar Prasad Argal scholarship” and “S.B.Mathur scholarship”. At various functions, members came forward to sponsor prizes to encourage the youth.
The respective teams organized well attended Holi & Diwali functions; Teej and informal get-together & most eagerly awaited PICNIC with lots of cultural programmes, skits, function shows, fancy dress & competition for children in creative writing, painting, public speaking, culminating in selection of the best all-rounder. The KKS hosted, competitions in cultural & sports, involving senior members, workshop & guidance sessions for the youth & bubbly enjoyable programs for the tiny tots.

It was renamed as Karnataka Kayastha Samaj (KK Samaj) in 2019 with the following AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
To spread and establish Kayastha Values of knowledge, hard work, acceptance and adaptability for general public at large. Prime objective will be spread of education and knowledge specially for weaker sections of society.
To that end it will strive to establish, run, support and provide financial assistance to students, schools, colleges, libraries, reading rooms, universities, laboratories research and other institutions
The Samaj shall promote, establish, support and /or grant aid for the promotion of literature, music, dance, drama and other fine arts for public in general.
The Executive Committee is a close-knit group of enthusiastic members always eager to expand, invite and enlist community members who have moved down south. The effort is to make them feel at home and to offer them a common platform to inculcate & promote social & cultural links amongst members in order to do their might for the betterment of community members. They meet once a month usually at any one of the member’s home.

While continuing with tradition of having four major functions for all members every year like Holi meet, Diwali get-together, Picnic etc. KK Samaj has undertaken many social causes outside KK Samaj by providing professional training to girl students under VIDYA. Thanks to our young space scientist Ms Ritu Karidhal who provided funding for this welfare activity.
